Description

Product Description

AIR LIFT Ride Control Rear Air Spring Kit is designed to adjust the air spring level of the vehicle while towing. It includes air spring, hardware and durable component. This kit eliminates sag and features 5000 pounds of leveling capacity. It facilitates easy and quick installation.

From the Manufacturer

Air Lift adjustable air helper springs level your load, and give your truck, van, or SUV a safer, more comfortable ride. Air springs are easy to install between your existing springs and the vehicle frame. Just add air when towing or hauling a heavy load, and reduce air pressure when unloaded; they are fully adjustable for a great ride. Air Lift air springs eliminate sag, sway, and bottoming out. They are made with rugged, durable components for long, reliable service.

Air Lift RideControl kits fit many of our most popular customer vehicles with leaf springs, including ½ ton and mini pickups, full-size and mini vans, and SUVs.

Application Information
This RideControl kit, number 59561, fits the 2005 to 2009 Toyota Tacoma, 4-wheel drive (all models) and the 2005 to 2006 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner, 2-wheel drive (with axle below the leaf spring). This kit is one of Air Lift''s over 230 no-drill kits requiring no frame drilling for installation, and can be easily installed in around 1 hour.

RideControl
Many of today''s most popular light-to-medium duty trucks, vans, and SUVs are built for a more comfortable, car-like ride. That''s fine when the vehicle is lightly loaded. But add a trailer, or all the things people haul for work and pleasure, and the vehicle sags and the ride suffers. Fully adjustable, RideControl kits keep your truck, van, or SUV level and riding comfortably with no load, loaded, or towing on any road condition. Air adjustable from 5 to 100 PSI, Air Lift RideControl air helper springs have up to 2,000 pounds of leveling capacity, right up to the manufacturer''s recommended Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. Your RideControl kit also includes quick connecting, easy-to-use air fittings. All kits are engineered to be easy to install and come with Air Lift''s exclusive alignment tool and a fully illustrated instruction manual.

Why Air?
Factory suspensions must compromise between ride comfort and load hauling capacity. Soft factory suspensions can''t carry heavy loads, and heavy steel springs ride rough, especially when the vehicle is unloaded. Only air springs can support your heavy loads and provide a great ride. Air Lift adjustable air springs solve these common problems by allowing you to tune your suspension under all load and road conditions. Just add air when towing or hauling and then remove air for a softer ride when unloaded.

Eliminate these common load and towing problems for good when you use Air Lift air springs:

Sag – Proper weight distribution to all tires improves steering, braking and tire wear. This is especially important while towing: adjust the air springs to accept the tongue weight of the trailer or other heavy loads.

Headlight aim – Only level and stable vehicles provide safe and proper headlight aiming – critical for night driving safety.

Rough ride – Air Lift''s progressive spring rate soaks up bumps, keeping tires on the road for better handling.

Bottoming out – Air Lift springs restore normal ride height when heavily loaded or towing, reducing suspension wear and eliminating crashing on bumps.

Sway and body roll – Air springs increase spring rate and vastly improve vehicle stability. When towing trailers, the air springs permit precise vehicle height adjustment for exact alignment, reducing trailer sway. Less roll and sway means a safer and more comfortable ride.

Porpoising – Pickup trucks, even those that don''t squat when loaded, can begin to "porpoise" vertically when towing heavy trailers. Progressive rate air springs dramatically reduce this problem for a safer, more comfortable ride.

Suggested Accessories
For maximum convenience and leveling on-the-go, nothing beats an Air Lift on board air compressor system. Automatic or dash-mounted, it quickly adjusts your vehicle for changes in load or road conditions. Air Lift compressor systems are the most advanced in the industry and work with all brands of air springs.

Best Warranty in the Business
Air Lift Company warrants that the RideControl air spring system will be free from defects in workmanship or materials for the lifetime of the vehicle of original installation. This does not include installation or other service charges for replacement.

Exclusive 60 Day Ride Satisfaction Guarantee
Air Lift guarantees you''ll be happy with the improvement in road comfort and load handling. If you''re not satisfied, you may remove the product and return it to your dealer for a full refund of your purchase price within the first 60 days after your purchase.

Air Suspension Solutions that Fit, Work and Last
Air Lift Company has been developing air spring suspension products for almost 60 years. The versatility of Air Lift air springs was proven during the early years of stock car racing. Air Lift products were used by most of the stock car racing teams for twenty years and the sponsored cars were among the toughest competitors on the NASCAR Grand National Circuit.

Today, Air Lift has won more SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) awards for air spring development products than any other company. Air Lift products are sold throughout the world and can be engineered to fit almost any coil or leaf spring suspension. The extensive product line includes everything from air helper springs for cars, vans and trucks to full air suspension replacement and control systems for recreational vehicles, emergency vehicles, hot rods and lowered performance vehicles.

Quality and Performance – the Air Lift Difference
As of February 2007, Air Lift Company is proud to be ISO 9001:2000 certified. ISO 9001:2000 applies to organizations which follow rigorous quality standards, and are committed to continuous improvement. Air Lift Company is dedicated to making suspension products that fit, work, and last.

Fist of all I am not being paid or rewarded for leaving any reviews on Amazon for the products I purchase. With that out of the way here is the review on the AIR LIFT 59561 Ride Control Rear Air Spring Kit. The install was on a 2018 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4WD pickup. I bought them to settling out the porpoising that occurs when we haul our 3700 pound single axle trailer with a 450 pound tongue weight. The install itself at least for this truck as rated a 3. The inside the channel bolt that needs to be installed was the most difficult. I got lucky and was able to drop the bolt in directly above the hole on both sides. after that the rest was easy. I''ve included some tips for the air lines that might prove useful. Since I cut and glue o-rings to make seals many times at my job, I borrowed our o-ring anvil. It allows you to hold an o-ring cord flat for a nice cut. I used this with a new razor to cut the hose nice and clean. Please see the photo for the picture of the anvil. I''m not sure Amazon sells them but they are available sometimes with o-ring repair kits. The second tip is to use Teflon liquid thread sealant - just a little dab on the threads helps back up the sealant they put on the right angle connectors that go into the bag. It helps lube the fitting as you tighten them. Also when making the connections to the fittings make sure when you push the air line in, that it goes all the way in. You''ll feel a light "click" when the hose hits bottom. ( BTW If you want to remove the line, push the ring down on the fitting and pull on the line) Lastly I added a pressure gauge to the fill valve area. Since I "teed" both of these lines together, I used a couple more of tee connectors to allow me to have instant look-see at the pressure. The Tacoma that I have, has little compartments in the back of the bed that are perfect for keeping the valve and gauge in. This makes it easy to fill and I don''t have to drill into anything. I have put about 200 miles with 20 psi of pressure on bumpy camping roads on them since the install. The porpoising has dropped considerably. I get a dip in the back end then it settles right out. As always, I will update this review as time goes on.

I haven''t had them under a load yet, but I did test them out and they seem fine. So the mounting hardware is fairly straight forward and easy to install..However, getting your hands small enough to reach to the inside of the frame to drop that top bolt in..not so much. One of the bolts is mounted where the rear cross is was able to wiggle and squeeze into the passenger side, but the driver''s side seemed near impossible because of the gas tank. I ended up unstrapping the gas tank and lowering it with a floor jack. Made it a little easier, but still basically impossible to reach. I ended up seeing there was a hole in the rear side of the cross member and was able to reach in that way. It is a DIY job, but just be patient.

This was my first experience with airbags in a pick up truck although I have driven heavy duty trucks most of my life. I helped my son put this into his 2005 Toyota Tacoma as they are known for their squat in the back and he wanted to tow. Install only took us an hour and a half and was quite straightforward. We opted not to go whole hog with pressure sensors and built-in compressors but did route the filler tubes out the license plate area for easy access. The difference in the vehicle was phenomenal and I would highly recommend it if you are struggling with a tow vehicle not sufficiently spec’d from the factory.

Used on my 2017 Tacoma for leveling out with a travel trailer. I really like it and it wasn’t that hard to install. (Remove rear tires and spare tire to install) Instruction diagrams were off but a person with common sense can figure it out. I feel the hose cuts are dang near impossible to be straight to be flush when inserting them into joints. I believe my lines leak but it’s not immediate and stay inflated for my 24hour or so tow.

Pretty mixed opinion on this kit. It bolted right on. Did it mid trip in an rv camp ground in the dirt in under 2 hours. The ride quality is pretty bad though. It limits both up and down travel unfortunately. Speed bumps are pretty harsh and offroading is not an option since you''ll likely tear the bag if you go to full drop. Firestone kit is most likely a better option.

Just pump it up to the ride height that you want and you won''t bottom out over every bump. I have a canopy on my truck year round and it has sagged out the back end a long time ago. I always wanted to do airbags on this thing but thought it would ruin the ride. I wish I would have done this a long time ago. FYI: don''t waste your time with their quick disconnect fittings. Get 1/8" NPT to 1/4" compression fittings for the air lines and then you wont have to deal with any leaks. I go weeks without losing any pressure, the only time I adjust is when I am putting something in my truck.
